Love is in the air!

It's February and that can only mean one thing - love is in the air!

With Valentine's Day (and half-term holiday) fast approaching, it's a great time to get creative and fill your home with love.  I've created some free Valentine themed printables to get you and your little ones in the mood and I thought I'd share a few ideas of how to use the heart patterned sheet included, to create some fun paper crafts.

So here's what you'll need (nothing fancy), hopefullly you'll have most of these in your stationery drawer.

Get started by making a heart-shaped template from cardboard, this will make your crafting much easier!

The possibilities of paper are endless but here are just a few ideas to get you started.

1.  GIFT WRAP AND MATCHING TAG

An obvious choice but if you have a small gift to wrap, then this A4 sheet is perfect!  And why not make a matching tag? You could print this design straight onto card or alternatively just glue to an extra sheet for added strength.  Looks super stylish even if I do say so myself!

2. 3D HANGING DECORATION

For this, you'll need to print two sheets.  Begin by gluing them together to create one double-sided sheet. Then use your template to draw and cut two hearts.

Starting at the centre of each heart; draw a line half way along - one from the centre to the top and one from the centre to the tip.  Hole punch the heart which has the line running from the centre to the tip.

Now cut along these lines but remember to stop half way!

Thread with string ready for hanging and slot the two hearts together along the cut lines and voila!

3. HEART BUNTING

Quick and easy! Repeat the template process to draw and cut as many hearts as you need to fill your desired length of bunting.  Hole punch two holes across the top of each heart, it may be easier to do two or three at a time if your hole punch will allow. Then simply thread the hearts through your chosen string, trying to space them equally as you go. A simple but effective garland ready to brighten up any space!

4. PAPER CHAINS

An oldie but a goodie; paper chains never grow old.  Why not make some heart-shaped ones just for Valentine's Day? Begin by cutting 2cm wide strips from your printed sheet and fold them in half.

Bring the two ends together to form a heart shape and staple in place.  Repeat the process interlocking the hearts as you go to form a chain; see how long you can make it!
